Top 5 iOS Navigation and Maps Apps Performance in Latin America Q4 2021

The fourth quarter of 2021 saw significant activity among the top 5 navigation and maps applications on the iOS platform in Latin America. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides valuable insights into the performance of these apps in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.

Google Maps experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 229K in mid-December. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, starting at around 13.4M at the end of September and reaching nearly 14.9M by mid-December.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a notable rise in weekly downloads, from around 71K at the end of September to over 118K by the end of December. Active users also increased steadily, beginning at 5.5M and peaking at about 6.7M in mid-December before a slight drop to 6.3M at the end of the month.

Google Earth had more modest download numbers, ranging from 17K to 23K throughout the quarter. Active users showed a slight fluctuation but remained relatively stable, hovering around 130K to 140K.

Google Street View maintained a consistent download rate, with an increase from approximately 4.3K to 5.2K by the end of December. Active users demonstrated a gradual increase, starting at 4.8K in late September and reaching about 5.6K by the end of December.

MAPS.ME: Offline Maps, GPS Nav saw weekly revenue ranging from $216 to $285, with a slight dip mid-quarter. Downloads varied between 2.4K and 3.1K, showing a steady increase towards the end of December. Active users also saw a gradual rise, from around 13.1K at the end of September to nearly 14.4K by the end of December.
